Live the outdoors like you never have before. The 600-metre track provides excellent opportunity for passing that can be done at speeds up to 65 km/h. East Coast Karting also offers a private picnic area that is perfect for private parties and corporate outings.
Track History
The sprawling 10 acres facility and kart track were built in 1992 by three local businessmen and karting enthusiasts. After several years of successful operation the group sold the operation to another member of the local racing community in 1998. Terry Barkhouse, who remains the owner today, began to add new services and program to the facility. In 2005, Barkhouse brought on board local karting distributor and engine builder Gerald Caseley to run the operation. Rentals were quickly added to the facility giving the local racing fans an opportunity to experience the fun of karting first hand. The facility would be further enhanced with the addition of a full line pro shop stocked with all the latest karting gear and equipment. In 2009, racing leagues were added to the program, the step between the rental program club racing series. Also in 2009, the facility went through a major landscaping upgrade with new fencing, additional open spaces and a complete lighting system to support night races. In 2010 an RC cars track will be added to the facility.
Looking to the future for new ways to grow the sport at the grass roots level, ECK has added cadet rental karts for youngsters to enjoy the thrill of speed. Kids looking for exciting summer time activities can join one of the many Kart Kamps for Kids. Programs run from Tuesday to Saturday during summer holidays. Call for details.
